If a CD player goes out, the Technology/Equipment manager is responsible for having it fixed or replaced in a timely manner. When we transition to broadcasting 24-7, if the streaming/encoding servers stop working at 2am the Tech Manager is the person responsible for figuring out the problem and getting the station back on the net. The Technical Director is effectively on-call 24-7.
The Technology/Equipment Director works 10 hours per week and reports to the Faculty Advisor and Broadcast Technician. The Technical Director is in charge of maintaining and updating the station's equipment and ensures that the station's equipment is properly functioning and to look into new technology that would benefit the station. |
