An Evening with Project 86: Loud Music and Tall Concertgoers

Project 86On Saturday, November 10, 2007, the Project 86 tour came through Club 3 Degrees in Minneapolis, playing in support of their newest album entitled “Rival Factions.” They performed alongside two other bands, Silverline and Children 18:3. Although I had not heard of Silverline before the show, the Brainerd natives won the Club 3 Battle of the Bands tournament last year. Children 18:3 are a band, which consists of two brothers and a sister from Morris, MN. They were definitely an interesting show to watch on stage, and their debut Tooth & Nail Records release “Songs of Desperation” hit stores February 26th, 2008.

WVOE in the Homecoming Parade

WVOE General Manager's car covered in toast!Members of WVOE took center stage at the 2008 Northwestern Homecoming Parade with what we like to call the “Toast Mobile”. Students began toasting bread at 9am; by the time of the parade they had toasted 24 loaves of bread. Students stuck the toast on WVOE General Manager Dave Josephson’s car to create a very unique, almost edible, float. The float received special attention from both faculty and students watching the parade. Will the Toast Mobile return? You will have to attend next year’s homecoming to find out... And a special thanks to all the radio workshop students who helped make this years float a success!
